Product Overview
This product is a microwave motion detection sensor specifically designed for automatic door safety control.
It features precise detection, high sensitivity, and multiple adjustable functions, ensuring the safety and efficiency of automatic door operation.
The outer casing is made of durable ABS plastic and is available in black and silver-gray colors.
It measures 121mm (width) × 80mm (height) × 52mm (depth), weighs 0.100kg, and comes with a 2.5m long wire.
With an IP52 protection rating, it can operate stably in a temperature range from -20°C to +55°C in various complex environments.
Function Setup
Sensitivity Adjustment (Potentiometer Adjusting)
The sensitivity can be accurately adjusted by the potentiometer to set the detection area size. The sensitivity adjustment range varies continuously from MIN to MAX, which is crucial for determining the detection area to meet different scenario requirements. For example, in places with low personnel flow and minimal environmental interference, the sensitivity can be appropriately reduced to narrow the detection area and avoid false positives. In crowded and busy areas, the sensitivity can be increased to expand the detection range and ensure no one is missed.
Relationship between Antenna Direction Dip Angle and Detection Area
The antenna vertical angle ranges from 0° to 60° (under the standard installation height of 2.2M). Different dip angles significantly change the shape and size of the detection area. At 0°, the detection area is horizontally distributed; at 15°, 30°, 45°, and 60°, the area gradually becomes inclined with dynamic changes in area and shape, and the sensitivity also changes accordingly. For instance, at 60°, the sensitivity is at its highest, providing the possibility of precise detection in special scenarios. For narrow passages where longitudinal long-distance detection is emphasized, a large dip angle can be selected, while for wide doorways, a small dip angle can be chosen to balance width and depth detection.
Switch Control
The sensor has a clear on/off function, which is easy to operate. When turned on, the sensor operates according to the set rules, and when turned off, the detection is paused. This is beneficial for equipment maintenance, scenario switching, or energy-saving management during specific periods. For example, in a shopping mall at night when it is closed, the sensor related to the automatic door can be turned off to reduce energy consumption and extend the equipment's service life.
Installation Precautions
Stable Installation
The sensor must be firmly installed and tightly attached to the installation surface to prevent vibration interference. Vibration can cause sensor displacement or internal component loosening, severely affecting the detection accuracy, resulting in signal fluctuations and false positives, and endangering the normal opening and closing order of the automatic door and the safety of personnel passing through.
Environmental Requirements
- Do not place the sensor in a covering or directly behind other materials. Ensure that the detection area has an unobstructed view to guarantee the unimpeded transmission and reception of microwave signals. Otherwise, signal attenuation and reflection will cause detection blind spots or false triggers. For example, if installed behind a metal cabinet, the signal will be shielded and the detection will fail.
- Do not place moving objects or vibration sources in the detection area. Such interference sources generate microwave reflections and interference signals, confusing the sensor's judgment and causing the automatic door to open or close incorrectly. For example, a rotating fan or people frequently passing through with moving objects in the area will interfere with the detection.
- Eliminate fluorescent source interference. The radiation wavelength band of fluorescent sources may overlap with the microwave band of the sensor or interfere with the signal processing circuit, resulting in signal distortion and false positives, affecting the precise control of the automatic door.
- Do not directly touch the sensor's antenna. Human static electricity and touch force can easily damage the antenna or change its parameters, resulting in abnormal signal transmission and reception and weakening the detection performance.

Core Technology and Transmission Characteristics
- The sensor integrates microwave and microprocessor technology for precise detection. The transmission frequency is 24.125GHZ. This frequency band is suitable for the microwave reflection characteristics of humans and common objects, ensuring detection accuracy and stability. The transmission power is <20 dBm EIRP, and the transmission frequency density is <5mW/cm². While ensuring effective detection, it strictly complies with low-power radiation standards, protecting the health of personnel and the electromagnetic compatibility of surrounding equipment.
Installation and Detection Performance
- The maximum installation height is 4m, and the dip angles of 15°, 30°, 45°, and 60° are available for flexible selection. Different combinations of height and dip angle create diverse detection patterns. For example, at an installation height of 2.3 meters, the maximum detection range is 4m (width) × 2m (height), providing sufficient coverage for medium and large doorways and passages. The minimum detection speed is 5cm/s (tested along the longitudinal axis of the antenna), enabling it to detect slow-moving objects such as the elderly in wheelchairs, comprehensively improving the responsiveness and safety of the automatic door.

- The sensor is compatible with a wide range of power supplies, including 12v - 24v AC (±10%) and 12v - 36v DC, and the frequency range of 50 - 60HZ meets most global power grid standards. This multi-power compatibility makes the product globally applicable and convenient for integration in different regions and scenarios. The power consumption is <2W (VA), helping to reduce operating costs and improve energy efficiency, in line with modern energy-saving concepts.
Relay Output Characteristics
- The relay output has no initial potential, ensuring the stability and safety of the electrical control initial state. The maximum contact voltage is 42V AC - 60V DC, the maximum contact current is 1A (resistive), and the maximum switching power is 30W (DC)/60VA (AC). The powerful output capability can drive various actuators such as electromagnetic locks and motor controllers of automatic doors, ensuring reliable operation. The output hold time is 0.5 seconds, providing sufficient response time for the automatic door control logic design, ensuring accurate and continuous actions and preventing signal jitter and misoperation.

In the ward area, to minimize interference with patients' rest, the sensitivity is reduced and an appropriate dip angle is set to accurately detect medical staff and necessary visitors and prevent false triggers.
